ANDREA MARTIN got her start with the Second City Theatre in Toronto, Canada. She starred in the critically acclaimed television series "SCTV," which garnered her two Emmy Awards for Best Writing for a Comedy Series, as well as an Emmy Award nomination for Best Actress. She is also the recipient of three American Comedy Award nominations for Best Actress in a Special, for several cable specials including her own, "Andrea Martin, Together Again," which also received a CableAce nomination for writing. Her additional television credits include starring roles in the Fox series "Damon," and the NBC series "The Martin Short Show." She has made guest appearances in the series "Mad TV," "Norm," "Tracy Ullman Show," "Deep Space Nine" as well as co-starring in the television movies "Harrison Bergenon" and "Gypsy."

A veteran of the stage, Martin was nominated for a Tony Award for her supporting role in "Candide." She received a Tony Award, Drama Desk and Theatre World Award for her role in "My Favorite Year" at Lincoln Center. Her one-woman show, "Nude, Nude Totally Nude," which she performed in New York, Toronto, Montreal and at the Canon Theatre in Los Angeles, gave her yet another Drama Desk nomination. Other theatre credits include: "Merry Wives of Windsor" (NYSF), "The Matchmaker," "The Royal Family" (Williamstown Festival Theatre), "Lips Together Teeth Apart" (Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles), and "Out Of The World" (Encores: City Center). Last spring, Martin performed "The Vagina Monologues" off-Broadway with Alanis Morrissette and Shirley Knight.

She can be heard in the animated series, "George and Martha" for HBO, "Committed" and "The Simpsons" for Fox, and for the last ten years on "Sesame Street." Her animated film work includes Anastasia, The Rugrats, and Bartok the Magnificent.

Martin recently completed All Over The Guy, executive produced by Don Roos and she can be seen in such films as Wag The Dog, Bogus, Stepping Out, Too Much Sun, Club Paradise, and Cannibal Girls which gave Martin what she considers to be her most important award to date - Best Actress at the International Horror Film Festival.
