Katie Roumel is currently the head of production at Killer Films and has most recently produced Series 7, written and directed by Daniel Minahan. Since Roumel joined Killer Films, the company has produced such films as Rob Schmidt’s Crime + Punishment in Suburbia, starring Vincent Kartheiser, Jeffrey Wright and Ellen Barkin and Kimberly Peirce’s Boys Don’t Cry. Based on a true story, this critically acclaimed film starred Hilary Swank, who was awarded both an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance as Brandon Teena and Chloe Sevigny, who received both a Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role.

Previously Roumel produced the ITVS funded experimental film Hide And Seek, directed by Su Friedrich. She also line produced Kiss Me Guido, starring Nick Scotti and Jennifer Esposito and Dark Harbor, starring Alan Rickman, Polly Walker and Norman Reedus. Additionally, she production managed John Hamburg’s Safe Men.

Roumel began her career in film as a casting assistant. It was then, working on Larry Clark’s controversial Kids, that she met Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler. She went on to be the assistant coordinator for them on such features as Nigel Finch’s Stonewall and Mary Harron’s I Shot Andy Warhol, as well as Granada Television’s Final Act.
