HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH

Mike Potter was born in rural Delaware where from the age of six, he escaped the conservative environment of the East Coast by "destroying" his grandmother’s wig.

Originally designing the look of Hedwig in 1995, Potter worked with John Cameron Mitchell to develop Hedwig’s unique make-up and hairstyles. Potter’s creations took the stage at all the New York City productions of "Hedwig And The Angry Inch" and he continued his work for the Jane Street Theatre run as well as the Los Angeles, Boston and London productions.

Potter has worked on numerous projects such as Rockland County No Vaudeville, Chocolate USA Tour Movie, Kiss Me Guido, Downtown Darlings, Flawless, Skin Tight The Movie, XX/XY, Spectropia, as well as the musical "Prom Queens" and "The Girl With Polka-Dot Eyes." His work has also graced book covers, magazine covers and music videos. He has worked with such legendary luminaries as Debbie Harry, Joan Jett, Ally Sheedy, Jackie Beat, Maggie Moore, Elvira and Michael Cerveris to name a few. When he has time he writes, paints and makes music.
